The 256th and final episode of MASH was February 28, 1983. It remained the ‘most watched’ program on television until the 2010 Super Bowl. A 27 year record. Curious, I remember it. LLU had numerous “MASH farewell parties”. As you may remember is was about the Korean War but, for the first few years of its 11 year run, the Vietnam War was raging. Much of its ‘political commentary’ was played out in Korea but directed at Vietnam.
I was solidly in college during the last years of Vietnam, (1970-75), going to a community college in Denver for 3 of those years. However, many vets were returning home trying to put their lives, bodies and heads back together and I still remember how f**ked up they were. (sorry).
Since then the US (and our patients) have been involved in wars in Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Kuwait, Somali, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq (again), Libya, and now we are battling ISIS…..everywhere. No commentary here. Just the messenger.
Sorry, moving on……
Whoa, whoa, before I move on I have to share this…… I googled “numbers in Spanish” so that I didn’t misspell ‘seis’, this is what I got:
That’s real helpful……
